Example of the School Visioning Process: Brighton Central School District

The Brighton Central School District in Rochester, New York, went through a school visioning process throughout the 2006-07 school year. During this time, the Board of Education and Superintendent gathered input from varioius stakeholders on what education should be like for Brighton Central Schools. Over 500 parents, students, members of the community at large, local college and business presidents, leaders of the Brighton faith community, support staff, and all professional staff in the school district provided answers to the following questions:

  • What should our schools look like in 2020?
  • What do students do in those schools?
  • What do teachers do in those schools?
  • What do we need to do now to get there?

Watch the video below to hear from Superintendent Chris Manaseri on how the process went.
